End of support for Internet Explorer and the risks of continued usage

Admincontrol take security seriously and are working continuously to ensure that our service is compliant with the latest security standards and advances within the security field.
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) web browser is unfortunately an outdated program based on older technologies. This means that it does not support modern technologies and that you as a user are at a higher risk of attacks if you choose to use this browser. Therefore, we have made the decision to prohibit access from Internet Explorer browsers, effective 31st December 2021.

Why
Content Security Policy (CSP) is a protection mechanism supported by all other modern browsers today. CSP is an added layer of defense that helps to detect and protect against certain types of attacks, including Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and data injection attacks. Admincontrol uses CSP to protect our users against such attacks. IE does not support this, and you are therefore not able to take advantage of this protection by using IE .
IE has a lengthy list of security bugs, since 2000 there have been over 1000 serious vulnerabilities tied to it. The main usage of IE has been on older operating systems that no longer are supported and no longer receive security updates, like Windows XP and Windows 7. If you are using any of these, you are at high risk due to unpatched security vulnerabilities that cyber criminals can take advantage of.

When
Security and protecting our customers is extremely important to us at Admincontrol. Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer on the 17th of August 2021. It is an increasing security risk to permit access to your critical data via Internet Explorer going forward. Therefore, we have made the decision to prohibit access from Internet Explorer browsers, effective 31st December 2021.

The consequences
You will not be able to access Admincontrol via Internet Explorer browsers after 31st December 2021.

Alternatives
The following browsers are more secure, and fully supported by our solution:
Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox.
