Data room release notes – May 2023. All data rooms get the new upload functionality in this release: larger files and batches, uploads that run while you keep working, a progress window and a complete upload history under My Uploads.

New and improved upload functionality for all data rooms

All data room users can now upload separate files up to 2 GB and upload batches up to 10 GB (compared to the old 1 GB limit).

In the Documents area, where most users upload documents, the new upload feature allows you to continue working while your files are being processed. Additionally, you'll receive instant updates about the upload progress through a progress window. All uploads, including failed files, will be reflected in the My Uploads section in the sidebar.

Please note that when uploading attachments in the Q&A flow, you will need to wait until the processing of the file(s) is complete before proceeding with your actions. In these cases, the progress window will not be visible.

What this means for you

• Higher limits for every data room. Single files up to 2 GB and batches up to 10 GB replace the previous 1 GB limit, which shortens the setup of large due diligence data rooms.
• Background uploads in Documents. Start an upload in the Documents area and continue indexing folders, adding users or answering questions while the files are processed. The progress window shows the status of each file.
• Q&A attachments. When you attach files to a question or an answer in the Q&A module, processing must complete before you can continue, and the progress window is not shown in that flow.
• Failed files are visible. Every upload, including failures, is listed in My Uploads in the sidebar, so a batch upload can be checked and repaired later without guessing which file did not make it.
