Release notes – November 2023. This release lets you add a personal message to signature request notifications and enables biometric login through the Norwegian BankID app.

Custom Messages for signature request notification

When requesting users to sign documents, you can now include a personalized message to give any additional or important information in order to make sure the document is signed in due time. The option is available in the summary of the signature request modal.

Biometrics activated for the Norwegian BankID app

When logging in to the Admincontrol service, it is now possible to use biometrics (FaceID or fingerprint) when using the Norwegian BankID App. For electronic signing, password will still be required.

What this means for you

• Custom message in signature requests. In the summary step of the signature request, you can write a message that is included in the notification to the signers, for example a deadline, the context of the document or who to contact with questions. Signers see it before they open the document, which reduces follow-up emails and helps documents get signed on time.
• Norwegian BankID with biometrics. When you log in to Admincontrol with the BankID app, you can now confirm with FaceID or a fingerprint instead of typing your BankID password. Login becomes faster on mobile devices without lowering the level of identification.
• Signing still requires the password. For electronic signing with BankID, the BankID password is still required; biometrics apply to login only.
• Other electronic IDs. Login and signing with other national IDs are unchanged.
• Tip for secretaries. Use the custom message for the signing deadline and the name of the document, and keep it short: signers read it in the notification email and can plan their signing without opening the portal first.
