Board portal release notes – November 2020. Web application version 5.3 supports meetings that span several days, extends Secure Messaging with annotations, drafts and filters, and introduces a stricter password policy based on OWASP recommendations.

Meetings with multiple days duration
It is now possible to create meetings with multiple days duration. The agenda layout is also improved, including the possibility to set start and end time for the items in the agenda.

Secure messaging improvements
When sending documents in secure messages, users now have the option to include their annotations. Furthermore, it is possible to save drafts and filter for draft messages and unread messages in the inbox. Users are also able to choose how often they receive notifications for secure messages.

Password policy
We have updated our password policy based on recommendations from The Open Web Application Security Project® (OWASP). When a user is asked to set or change their password, the new password needs to meet the updated requirements. You will also be able to check the strength of your password when creating a new one. In this blog post we share some tips on how to create strong passwords. We also recommend using a password manager to manage your passwords.

What this means for you
- Multi-day meetings. Strategy seminars and board trips can be created as one meeting with a start and end date. The improved agenda layout lets you set start and end times per agenda item, so participants see the programme for each day.
- Secure Messaging. Documents sent in a secure message can include your annotations, messages can be saved as drafts, the inbox can be filtered for drafts and unread messages, and each user chooses how often to receive message notifications.
- Password policy. New or changed passwords must meet updated requirements, and a strength indicator shows how strong your password is while you type. Existing passwords keep working until you change them.
- Recommendation. Use a password manager and enable two-factor authentication; together they protect your account far better than a strong password alone.
