Data room release notes – October 2025. This release improves the redaction tool used to black out sensitive information in data room documents before buyers see them, with a search for email addresses, a new redaction panel and full-page redaction.

Redaction tool improvements

For this release, we have introduced several improvements to the redaction tool.

Improved search

It is now possible to search for email addresses included in a document. The search provides an overview of all emails, allowing you to easily select which ones to redact.

New redaction panel

The updated panel offers several new options for redaction:

• Manual text redaction tool
• Option to redact full page(s)
• Style settings that allow you to modify the redaction colour

What this means for you

• Find personal data faster. The improved search lists every email address found in a document, so you can select the ones to redact in one pass instead of reading the whole document. This is especially useful for employee lists, customer contracts and correspondence where GDPR requires personal data to be protected.
• Manual text redaction. Select any text in the document and redact it directly from the new panel.
• Full pages. Whole pages, for example appendices that are not part of the transaction, can be redacted with one action.
• Style settings. Change the colour of redactions to match your house style or to distinguish different types of redaction during review.
• Review before release. Redactions are applied to the version buyers see; keep the original in a folder the buyer roles cannot access and check folder permissions before publishing.
• Combine with permissions. Redaction protects content inside a document; folder permissions and print and download settings control who can open it. Use both when preparing sensitive folders for buyer roles.
